JAM's Call for Music is now OPEN!

The deadline for submissions is Friday 15th December 2017 

Submit music for JAM’s 2018 season launch concert at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, London on March 22nd.  The concert will be performed by The Chapel Choir of Selwyn College Cambridge, Onyx Brass and Simon Hogan (organ), conducted by Michael Bawtree. 

Successful submissions will be joined by JAM’s stunning commissions by The submissions will be joined by JAM’s stunning commissions by Jonathan Dove's The Far Theatricals of Day, celebrating fifteen years since its commission and Voices of Vimy by Tom Harrold and Stuart Beatch with words by Grahame Davies. This performance will be professionally recorded.  Performances are attended by the general public and also publishers, commissioners, concert/festival managers and the media.

Anyone aged 18 or over may submit music to JAM if they are born, living or studying in the UK.

Submissions must be written for choir, brass quintet and organ OR any combination of these forces.  A solo trumpet piece is just as relevant as an organ and tenor piece or one for all forces.

A maximum time limit of 10 minutes per piece is stipulated. There is no minimum limit – a short fanfare is just as relevant as a 10 minute piece for all the forces.

Founded in 2000, JAM continues to be a rich forum for development.  Established composers and musicians are on hand, offering constructive critique.  To date, JAM has commissioned and/or performed over 80 new works by composers including Judith Bingham, Rory Boyle, Philip Cashian, Adam Gorb, Jonathan Dove, Tom Harrold, Gabriel Jackson, Paul Mealor, Thea Musgrave, Tarik O’Regan, Julian Philips and Giles Swayne.

In 2018, JAM will run 20 events.  Music submitted will be considered for repeat performance throughout the season.
