Sound and Music is the national charity for new music. Our vision is to create a world where new music and sound prospers, transforming lives, challenging expectations and celebrating the work of its creators.
Part staged performance, part concept album, Folie à Deux is a lyrical and intense investigation into love and loneliness within a relationship. Created by composer Emily Hall, writer Sjón and featuring vocals from Sofia Jernberg.
For the Summer 2015 Embedded residencies, we are delighted to announce partnerships with Lichfield Festival and Red Note Ensemble. The deadline for both these opportunities is noon Wednesday 3 June 2015.
Applications now open for Adopt a Composer, which pairs amateur choirs, orchestras, and ensembles with a composer for one year. It is funded by PRS for Music Foundation and run by Making Music, in association with Sound and Music and BBC Radio 3.
Leo Chadburn (AKA Simon Bookish) presents 'The Text Message' deaturing song, spoken word and lo-fi electronics, and including rarely-heard experimental music by composers including Peter Ablinger, Travis Just and Jennifer Walshe.
