Summer School 2015
The Sound and Music Summer School is a life-changing opportunity for anyone aged 14-18 and into creating music. Applications for the 2015 Summer School are now open with a deadline of noon Thursday 2nd April 2015.
SOUNDkitchen commissions two artists that have not previously worked together to devise a collaborative performance with the aim to provide artists with an opportunity to experiment, test new ideas and take a few artistic risks.
On Thursday 27 November, hcmf// will showcase the works of the 12 Next Wave composers. This will be presented alongside key discussions about recording and distributing your work, part of Sounding Out.
This autumn, Ripsaw Catfish will assemble ad hoc ensembles ('shoals') of improvising musicians from locations across the UK to play spontaneous sets of new music informed by, incorporating or ignoring the Ripsaw Catfish composed material.
Lucky Dog Music is part of Composer-Curator, based in West Yorkshire. It promotes new music including contemporary classical, new jazz, improv and experimental often including visuals, electronics and words.
A remarkable new performance work is hitting the UK in 2014 - bringing together the unequivocal talents of Franco-Norwegian poet Caroline Bergvall with the experimental soundscapes of Norwegian percussionist Ingar Zach.
