General Information

Reporting to the Creative Project Leader for Education, this is a newly created, exciting and important post within Sound and Music’s core team, supporting the successful delivery of the Education Programme and commencing in April 2018.

The post holder will work with the Creative Project Leader in the delivery of the Education Programme including; the Summer School for young composers, a unique week-long residential course for 14-18 year-olds; Listen Imagine Compose, a programme that explores how composing is taught and learned in secondary schools including resources, symposia and teacher Continuing Professional Development; Go Compose, a programme that develops opportunities for children and young people to explore composing and creating music; Minute of Listening a digital resource for primary schools that enables classes of pupils to listen to a minute of music and sound every day; and New Music Stage, a collaboration with Music for Youth that showcases performances of music created by young people. The position encompasses support in all aspects of the delivery including administration, event management and communications.

The Education Coordinator will be encouraged to develop their knowledge and understanding of the music education sector, cultivate new contacts, and will be required to represent Sound and Music at some events.

This role involves working closely with other members of the Sound and Music team, in particular the Administrator, the Communications and Development Coordinator and the Marketing and Insight Executive.
