Museums and Heritage Partner Network

In museums, galleries, libraries and all across the heritage sector curators, interpretation staff, and educators are exploring the power of composers and music to reach audiences in new and exciting ways.

Sound and Music is building a network of Museums and Heritage partners who want to be part of this work and break new ground in the use of music and sound within their organisations.

For composers this means we can open up a range of remarkable new opportunities.

With some partners we will establish full Composer Residencies within museums - whilst with others we will explore how they can use sound in much more light touch ways. Institutions joining the network can be from the UK or elsewhere in the world, but must be interested in working with British composers.

The Museum and Heritage Partner network is a
new and broad-ranging programme that goes far further than the title might
initially suggest; bringing new composers into all kinds of inspiring cultural
locations and building
inspiring relationships between composers, host organisations and audiences.

Through becoming a member of the Museum and Heritage Partner Network you gain the following benefits:

  • Access to advice sessions with Sound and Music staff
  • Support in developing your own residency programmes
