Embedded: Red Note Ensemble
Red Note Ensemble is Scotland’s contemporary music ensemble, commissioning and performing new music from Scotland and around the world. Building off the success of the first Red Note Embedded residency with Thomas Butler producing Elbow Room, we are pleased to announce a new residency for a composer to create new work with the ensemble.
The selected applicant will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Red Note’s activities, spending at least two days a month (on average) with the ensemble, in addition to writing time, which could include getting involved with regular nights in city venues or rural touring.
Composer-in-Residence: Patricia Alessandrini
Patricia Alessandrini’s works engage with issues of representation, interpretation, perception, and memory, and are often multimedia, theatrical and collaborative.
She previously taught at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and Bangor University, and is currently a part-time Lecturer in Sonic Arts at Goldsmiths.
Embedded is a Sound and Music composer and creative-artist development programme. Funded by The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the PRS for Music Foundation, Embedded places a selection of composers from a range of disciplines into extended relationships with leading national arts organisations.
