Composers-in-Residence: Michael Betteridge and Anna Dolphin
Michael is a composer, conductor and animateur based in Manchester, UK.
Michael’s output and work is exceptionally eclectic ranging from conducting traditional choirs through to collaborating with other artists on abstract, site-specific installations. He believes strongly in collaboration and that his colleagues, participants and performers should always be actively contributing to the final product or performance regardless of their experience.
Anna explores and plays with sound to make installations, audio-visual interactive art, and sonic pieces. She believes in the importance of access to creative participation for all and works with acoustic and digital music, sound making, and multi-media projects in a range of settings, including education, healthcare and outreach projects as a music and arts facilitator and educator.
Embedded is a Sound and Music composer and creative-artist development programme. Funded by The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the PRS for Music Foundation, Embedded places a selection of composers from a range of disciplines into extended relationships with leading national arts organisations.
